A Simple Detail Often Overlooked
Providing your company’s contact details is possibly the most important section of your website. It is essential that your contact information is easily found on your website with the obvious Contact link, visible at all times.
Simple, concise and easy to understand information on your contact page is vitally important, whilst some companies will go the extra mile and provide multiple language versions for foreign visitors, as well as items like travel information (by train, parking, from the airport etc.), and print friendly map of how to find you the contact form remains King of these pages.
At FHOKE we have made sure our contact information is clearly visible in the footer of the page and a direct link appears in the header at all times. This is common practice and if it suits the design we often insert a contact form into the footer or use a Light Box to add a bit of wow factor to a more than often dull looking form. Contact forms are vitally important though as not all users will have direct access to an email client. These are also a quick way for a user or potential customer to drop a quick enquiry, rather than having to think about writing an email.
When displaying company phone numbers it’s also advisable to use the international dialling code. Who knows where your visitor is from, you may in a short time become an international business. But remember don’t offer too many contact choices this will only confuse the user and never offer only a Click Here button without displaying the email address.
