10 Great Free Fonts For Designers
Every now and again we all need new fonts to wow clients, and they always want a “fresh” high-quality free font to save them money. The choice is enormous, and the time you need to find them run's into the project time line. So we've had a little dig and found a few for those designers out there. We've even used the majority of them on our current projects have a poke around in the portfolio to see how we've used them.
We've picked out 10 free high-quality fonts and collections of fonts. Please read the license agreements carefully — they can change from time to time.
Jos Buivenga’s free font that is a bit square and sharp. Great attention has been given to detail, spacing and kerning. It contains more than 300 glyphs and over 1.300 kerning pairs. Diavlo contains (some) East European characters.
The final release contains 5 weights: Light, Book, SemiBold, Bold and Black. Diavlo contains a bunch of ligatures and contextual alternatives (OpenType feature) to prevent undesired collisions.
Nice little script font for PC and MAC from Apostrophe.

Special attention was given to character spacing. With it’s relatively large x-height the Delicious can be used for text in smaller point sizes. The Delicious italic is not a slanted roman, but a true italic. Serif, Mac / PC.
A robust and rigid font, forgiving, flexible, elegant and also suitable for a broad use: from a stationery to a poster headline.

Quicksand is a brilliant sans-serif font designed by Andrew Paglinawan and available for free download.
Jos Buivenga released Museo Sans, a sans-version of his previously released free font Museo. Museo Sans is a sturdy, low contrast, geometric, highly legible sans serif typeface very well suited for any display and text use.
Museo Sans font family comes in 10 fonts: 5 weights (100 300 500 700 900) with each an italic. 2 fonts are absolutely free (500/500 italic). A registration is required to download the files.
The "not" so FREE Fonts, but we love these fonts too...
