There’s a challenge in redesigning the website of a company that has existed for more than 150 years. How do you modernise a brand without losing the heritage that made it successful in the first place?
That was exactly the balance we needed to strike when Price & Pierce approached us to redesign their website for a second time. Having first worked together in 2018, this latest project represented an opportunity to evolve the business’s online identity while building on the foundations we had laid eight years earlier.
For more than a century and a half, Price & Pierce has been a respected name in the timber industry, supplying timber and panel products through a vast global sourcing network spanning every major timber-producing region worldwide. Their reputation has been built on expertise, reliability, and long-standing industry relationships.
But while the business had evolved enormously over the years, the digital experience needed to reflect the company’s scale and sophistication today.

MOVING AWAY FROM THE INDUSTRY STANDARD
One of the biggest challenges within industrial and manufacturing sectors is that many websites tend to look and feel the same.
Overly corporate layouts, dated visuals, and functional yet uninspiring user experiences remain common across the industry. For Price & Pierce, it was important that the new website felt different.
Rather than leaning into a traditional industrial aesthetic, we explored a more editorial-inspired design direction. We wanted the website to feel established and authoritative, but also modern, refined, and highly considered.
The visual language was built around strong typography, structured layouts, generous spacing, and carefully selected photography that highlighted the scale of the company’s operations and the quality of its products.
The result is a website that feels more like a premium house builder than a conventional timber supplier’s website.

Confident DESIGN
Price & Pierce’s strength lies not only in the products they supply, but also in the depth of knowledge they bring to the market.
With sourcing capabilities spanning countries including Sweden, Latvia, Chile, Finland, China, Brazil, Belgium, and Germany, the company plays a major role within the global timber supply chain. The website needed to communicate that expertise clearly without overwhelming users with information.
We approached the project with a strong focus on clear content hierarchy. Key messaging on sustainability, global reach, local market expertise, and responsible sourcing was strategically placed throughout the site, ensuring visitors could quickly understand what distinguishes the business from others.
Large-format imagery and concise messaging were paired with subtle movement and tactile scrolling interactions to create a more immersive browsing experience while maintaining a professional and highly usable interface.

A BESPOKE WORDPRESS BUILD
As with many of our larger brochure and corporate websites, WordPress was the natural platform choice for Price & Pierce.
The business required a flexible, scalable content management system that would enable internal teams to manage product information, company content, and future growth with ease.
We developed a bespoke WordPress theme tailored to the business’s needs, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and long-term usability. The modular build (using ACF by the way) allows the Price & Pierce team to continually evolve the website over time while maintaining consistency across the pages.
Alongside the visual redesign, the website was also carefully optimised for accessibility, speed, and search visibility.
RESPECTING HERITAGE WHILE LOOKING FORWARD
Projects like Price & Pierce are always particularly rewarding because they require more than just good design.
They demand an understanding of brand positioning, industry perception, and how digital experiences can help long-established businesses remain relevant in increasingly competitive markets.
The finished website successfully balances heritage with modernity, creating an online presence that reflects Price & Pierce’s long-standing authority within the timber industry while positioning the business confidently for the future.
For us, it’s another example of how thoughtful strategy, strong branding, and bespoke theme design can completely reshape how a company is seen online.
And after working with Price & Pierce since 2018, it’s been a privilege to help continue that evolution.
