Routing: a clear map of the application

Routes define what should happen when somebody or something reaches a particular URL. They can handle familiar actions such as viewing, creating, updating and deleting information, apply security checks and direct work to the appropriate part of an application. WordPress is often a better fit when the main requirement is publishing and managing marketing content through a familiar editorial interface. A brochure site, online magazine or conventional ecommerce store may reach the market faster and cost less to operate with WordPress and WooCommerce. The best technology is the one that solves the problem without creating another one.

Credentials should be protected, Laravel and its supporting software kept up to date, and third-party dependencies checked regularly. Laravel can support applications at considerable scale, but scalability comes from good architecture and operations rather than the name of the framework. Frequently used information can be stored for faster access, database queries can be improved and slower work can happen in the background. The infrastructure can then grow alongside demand rather than requiring the whole product to be rebuilt when usage increases.

The key is to measure rather than guess. Monitoring, logs, database analysis and real-user performance data reveal where genuine bottlenecks exist. One inefficient piece of database work repeated hundreds of times can matter far more than an expensive infrastructure change.
