We've watched with interest over the past couple of years the effect that ever increasing screens and resolutions have had on sites and web designers alike. For several years now we have been conforming to what web designers call the 960 Grid System (gs). And what a great system it is too. The 960 gs gives us designers flexibility and helps to quickly prototype the layout in any number of columns: 9/3, 3/3/3, 4/4/4/4, 10/2 col and so on. It is no doubt the most popular recent grid system and is used on many sites and design templates.

After a few requests to see more we've added another 7 New and Modern Icons to the previous set. The result is a set of 28 that include normal icons such as Digg, Stumble and Reddit but now include DesignBump, DesignMoo, and Skype as well! All the icons are Illustrator vector files for you to play with and use.

Twitter as most of you will already know is a free micro-blogging service not to mention a great networking tool that allows you to send, receive and read others updates or tweets as they are known. With just 140 characters to play with in each tweet it's great for buzzing things while your on the fly, reeling off random comments and sharing things you've just seen.

6 FREE Tools To Identify Fonts

As designers, developers, programmers or the every day joe we've all come across this common problem. You've been browsing through your favorite websites and found one that uses a font you love and must have there and then... but how do you go about finding out what that font is called?
One option would be to email the site and just ask for the name of the font and where to get it. But what are the chances of that and if there was one this can take some time. Instead we've pulled together a list of FREE online tools to help out in that search for the "font" of your life.

We've recently been creating a database of Icons for use with our own clients and just for fun and we decided we should start sharing these with the world. Every now and again we all need new fonts to wow clients, and they always want a “fresh” high-quality free font to save them money. The choice is enormous, and the time you need to find them run's into the project time line. So we've had a little dig and found a few for those designers out there. We've even used the majority of them on our current projects have a poke around in the portfolio to see how we've used them.
